Short description: The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the genetic determination of traits of living organisms with particular emphasis on man, ways of inheritance and types of variability of qualitative and quantitative traits, mutagenic factors, epigenetics, immunogenetics, genetics of the process of formation of sexual traits. During the course, knowledge about the introduction to molecular biology, genomics and genetics of the population will also be transferred.
Full description: The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the genetic determination of traits of living organisms with particular emphasis on man, ways of inheritance and types of variability of qualitative and quantitative traits, mutagenic factors, epigenetics, immunogenetics, genetics of the process of formation of sexual traits. During the course, knowledge about the introduction to molecular biology, genomics and genetics of the population will also be transferred.Student knows and understands the basic rights and issues related to genetics and the basics of classical inheritance; distinguishes mechanisms of inheritance of quantitative and qualitative traits, and clarifies the differences predict offspring traits, understands the importance of genetic polymorphism as well as explains substrate fundamental biological variability (biodiversity) and its relationship with inanimate environmental factors. Student analyzes thegenetic and environmental determinants of the structure and function of the human body and its parts. Develops and prepares individuals crossing models with different characteristics and on this basis provides their occurrence in the offspring
